Jungberg Rizling vlašský 2022
Delicate and delicious “Vlašák” (Welschriesling, Riesling Italico) from our Jungberg vineyard. This ethereal, yet very precise, zippy and zesty wine spent a night on skins and then fermented in a large stoneware amphora. Further ageing took place in a combination of terracotta amphora, acacia barrel and stainless steel. This wine presents a very fine example of grape variety and place – it’s a first single vineyard Rizling vlašský that we did since the awesome 2018 vintage!

We harvested the grapes for this wine on October 7, the latest Rizling vlassky harvest we ever did in our farm. Rainy September wasn’t really great for grape ripening, but we persisted and our patience was rewarded by a beautiful indian summer in the beginning of October. The grapes were perfectly healthy, ripe and beautiful, bunches small and elegant, stems well ripened and the grapes had incredible, spicy flavour. All this lead to origin of one of our most favourite Rizling vlašský vintages so far!
